Flamingo Festival 2017

Ms. Tejashree D. Nakashe, attended the annual ‘Flamingo Festival’ conducted by the BNHS, on April 22, 2017, the day which is also celebrated as an ‘Earth day’. The event witnessed a footfall of around 10,000–12,000 people, young and old alike, who thronged to the Sewri Jetty in Mumbai, just for a good view of the pink beauties. Ms. Nakashe disseminated information on birds and answered queries posed by the public during the festival. ENVIS newsletters and the other informative material were distributed to the visitors. Apart from the numerous binoculars and spotting scopes arranged for viewing the flamingos, there were other interesting activities kept alongside for children like check your wing span, flamingo tattoos, face painting, Quiz competition, and Book reading by  Mr. Deepak Dalal, author of the book ‘Feather Tales: A Flamingo In My Garden’.
